  • The North Middleton Township Volunteer Fire Co. dedicated their new Tanker 39—a 2025 Pierce/Kenworth—to honor late member Lonnie McKillop, Sr. Family and community members, including his son and grandson, took part in the ceremony as the apparatus begins service in rural firefighting.  ABC27

  • Todd Shamash, CEO of Capital Blue Cross, told C-Speak podcast that the company—serving 800,000 members—uses AI to help staff and build trust with local residents. He said slowing down to think ahead and learning constantly are key strategies for staying competitive in a fast-changing industry.  Central Penn Business Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At Horn Farm Center in York County, locals learn survival skills and regional natural history through a four-part series that includes a class on starting a fire with cattails and a fire cider making workshop — the next wilderness skills session is on Nov. 22. Plans for 2026 include training on beekeeping and growing your own food.  ABC27

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Sen. John Fetterman returned home after being released from hospital following a fall last week that left him with minor facial injuries and 20 stitches. He thanked the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center—its care helped him recover—and was with his wife and children at home.  CBS News Philadelphia
  • PennDOT said lane closures will affect Interstate 81 Southbound in Lower Paxton Township tonight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. tomorrow and again Tuesday night from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. as crews patch concrete near Exit 72 — drivers are urged to remain alert in the work zone.  ABC27
  • Demolition crews imploded the 19th Street Bridge over Interstate 83 early Sunday morning at 1:30 a.m.—the highway was closed Saturday night and reopened at 8 a.m. The 60-year-old bridge will be replaced next year as part of an Interstate 83 improvement project.  ABC27
