- ➤ Mountz Jewelers, a family-run business that began in the 1950s, has thrived because of its skilled craftsmanship and strong local support — it now runs three locations, donates to 75 non-profits each year, and will hold a holiday showcase on the Friday before Thanksgiving. - ➤ Barley Snyder has been named to Best Lawyers' 2026 list with rankings in 27 practice areas, including a Tier 1 ranking in key fields for the Harrisburg metro. - ➤ Santa and his nine reindeer arrived at Hersheypark to mark the opening of Christmas Candylane—a holiday tradition now running on select dates and weekends until Jan. 4. The park also opened Hershey Sweet Lights, a drive-through attraction with more than 500 light displays from 5 to 10 p.m. FOX43

- ➤ Solar for Schools, a key program for installing solar panels on schools, stays funded for another year following a state budget deal; Carlisle Area School District superintendent Colleen Friend said her district received $252,000 and plans to ask for more funds for a local elementary school’s array (the program remains one of the few bipartisan clean energy successes in the state). - ➤ PennDOT said the 19th Street bridge in Harrisburg will be demolished Saturday night, shutting down a stretch of I-83 with lane restrictions on I-83 and Route 322 westbound starting at 7 p.m. and full closure by 11 p.m., while cleanup will be completed by 8 a.m. Sunday; 19th Street will remain closed through 2026 with the road reopening in late November or early December and ramps in spring 2027.
