  • Firefighters rescued a kitten from a storm drain in Dauphin County on Sunday around 11 a.m.—the kitten has been taken to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area for adoption.  WGAL

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Mechanicsburg-based Pierson Computing Connection, Inc. announced its inaugural Thanks for Giving Initiative to help local nonprofits by donating working interactive flat panel displays. The company is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations in Central Pa from Nov. 1-30 to boost educational and community services.  Central Penn Business Journal
  • AT&T added new cell sites in Central Pennsylvania to boost 5G coverage and provide FirstNet support for first responders (the sites are in Mechanicsburg along Carlisle Pike near Salem Church Road in Cumberland County, Chambersburg east of I-81 around Falling Spring Road, and near Sand Hill on Kimmerlings Road in Lebanon County).  Central Penn Business Journal
  • Twenty large warehouses in Cumberland County range from 500,000 to 1.62 million square feet and support a busy warehousing industry. The state Department of Labor & Industry said that easy highway access—along with a strong workforce and affordable real estate—has drawn many operators to the Carlisle area.  PennLive

HEALTH NEWS

  • Ten-year-old June Hitz from Dauphin County was recently diagnosed with scoliosis and will wear a brace for 16 hours a day to slow her spine's curve. Her mother, Kelly, started the first Central Pennsylvania chapter of Higgy Friends (a nonprofit that helps kids with scoliosis connect and share activities) to provide support.  WGAL
