GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Pennsylvania Department of Human Services said SNAP benefits stopped on October 16 because a federal shutdown froze funding and left thousands without food assistance for November. The agency will notify recipients when funding is restored (recipients must continue meeting work and reporting requirements). Local 21 News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ An investigation found that Pennsylvania did not build a strong mental health care system, leaving many people without homes, jobs, or needed support—decades of cuts and poor decisions by state leaders contributed to the worsening crisis. - ➤ Over 750 people joined the Breakthrough T1D Walk at Adams-Ricci Park in Enola on Sunday, raising over $298,000 for diabetes research and advocacy—Rutter’s Children’s Charities contributed $25,000 while additional donations are still being collected. FOX43
