COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Girl Scouts announced they will drop S’mores and Toast-Yay cookies next year to add a new flavor, while cookie fans can still buy them at local booths or online for three months while supplies last. S’mores was introduced in 2017 and Toast-Yay debuted in 2021—customers are urged to stock up soon.  PennLive
  • Wrestlers gathered at Spring Grove High for a memorial clinic turned fundraiser to honor fallen officer Cody Becker and support his family.  FOX43

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Saturday, guests riding the Wild Mouse coaster at Hersheypark were evacuated after a dropped sweatshirt became lodged beneath a wheel—maintenance promptly removed the item and escorted riders from the attraction.  Local 21 News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • At the Penn Waste Materials Recovery Facility in York, a new AI-enabled robot from Glacier sorts recycling with improved efficiency for hundreds of thousands of residents and businesses from York, Lancaster and the surrounding areas. The facility, upgraded after a 2022 fire, now has 32 employees who remotely operate the technology—boosting safety and recycling purity.  WITF

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Lower Paxton Township residents voted against hosting a fireworks display as 244 respondents opposed it while 211 supported the event—more than 400 residents participated, and township supervisors will meet Tuesday to review the results. The decision comes after concerns over rising costs and safety risks, including recent arrests at previous displays.  PennLive

SPORTS NEWS

  • On Sunday, the Syracuse Crunch rallied from a two-goal deficit to win 3-2 in overtime over the Hershey Bears at the GIANT Center—Dominic James scored the overtime goal after three unanswered scores. Goalie Ryan Fanti stopped 26 of 28 shots as the game lasted 2 hours and 32 minutes.  FOX43
