  • In Pennsylvania, the unemployment rate stayed at 4.0% in August, and nonfarm jobs reached a record high for the 16th month—although the civilian labor force dropped by 7,000 from July. The U.S. rate rose to 4.3% during the same month.  Central Penn Business Journal
