ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • The six-year-old boy injured during the Kipona Festival crash on Sept 1 opened his eyes after several days in a coma—his family said he is now showing signs of improvement but remains seriously injured.  ABC27
  • Local businesses said a driver hit several signs and damaged the Linglestown Road roundabout, leaving cracks in the curb — PennDOT crews replaced two damaged signs on Monday as township officials warned that tractor-trailers must avoid the roundabout and may face fines up to $500.  ABC27

CULTURE NEWS

  • Dorney Park, Hersheypark and Knoebels are finalists in USA Today's best Halloween events contest, with fans able to vote for their favorite until Sept. 22nd at 12 p.m.—winners will be named on Oct. 1st.  Central Penn Business Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court heard arguments on September 10 on whether the rule that rejects mail-in ballots when voters miss the correct date on the return envelope violates the state constitution—civil rights groups claim it harms voter access while election officials defend it as a minimal requirement.  WITF
  • Veolia Water held two open house meetings on September 8 at the Susquehanna Township Administration building on Linglestown Road from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.—meetings that addressed customer backlash over discolored water caused by hydrant issues and billing concerns.  ABC27
  • Lower Paxton Township is asking residents for input on the future of the July fireworks show after a Board meeting released a survey that questions whether the $22,500—$25,000 expense and safety risks at past events are acceptable. Linglestown Fire Company No.1 announced it will no longer fund the event after fights and firearms incidents occurred at previous shows.  ABC27
  • On September 10, 2025, Dauphin County commissioners rejected a resolution that would have stopped county employees from assisting ICE+ they also put on hold a vote on a new healthcare contract for the county jail.  PennLive
