EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Susquehanna Township School District saw enrollment grow from 2,600 to 3,165 since 2017 and bought a 102,000-square-foot office building on Deer Path Road that will be renovated into a school for fifth- and sixth-graders starting in the 2026-2027 school year. Officials are proposing tax changes—raising the earned income tax and eliminating the $270 occupation tax—to help cover renovation and debt costs as overcrowding continues in the district. PennLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ PennDOT announced it will ban large trucks, RVs, and other tall vehicles from North Front Street later this year to prevent crashes at a low-clearance railroad bridge. The agency will install clearer warning signs (from Maclay to Forster Street) to help reduce accidents and ease traffic congestion. FOX43
