- ➤ The board of governors for the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education approved a $139 per semester tuition increase to help cover a $40 million budget gap—raising annual costs by $278 at state-owned universities. Tuition bills will be sent next week as officials wait for a 6.5% funding boost from lawmakers. WGAL

- ➤ Carter Smith, a rising senior at Mifflin County High School, won state titles in cross country and indoor track and claimed a national title in the mile after breaking out in his sophomore and junior seasons.
