- ➤ The Middle Paxton Lions Club carnival is running in Dauphin Borough near 300 Church St from July 8 to July 12, offering live entertainment, carnival food and rides + a fireworks show on July 11 at 9:30 p.m. Volunteers are invited to check in at the tent from 6:00 p.m. tonight through Saturday to support community programs. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Four people were injured in a fiery crash when two vehicles collided on Lincoln Highway near Stricklers School Road in Hellam Township at 9:11 a.m.—the road remains closed between Burgs and Keeney lanes for an extended time as Pennsylvania State Police investigate. WGAL

- ➤ A woman shared a video showing a violent attack outside Mad Moose Tavern on Herr Street on July 3—where her friend was struck and she was hit when she tried to help, prompting police to start an investigation as she demands the man be held accountable. WGAL
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Steelton Borough Mayor Ciera Dent urged the community to do better after five shootings and two fatal car crashes left families in grief and ordered the closure of the Soul Lounge following a Sunday morning shooting in which 32-year-old Kenneth Cox was shot by police (he now faces charges for allegedly shooting another person after a dispute). - ➤ PennDOT reopened the pedestrian underpass on Cameron Street near the state Farm Show Complex on Tuesday after repair work fixed concrete deterioration that had closed it since February. The work is part of an $8.3 million project—set to finish by September—that also reopened the westbound left turn lane into the complex. TheBurg
- ➤ A board that oversees opioid settlement funds has been operating outside the state’s Right-to-Know Law since a 2023 ruling, and families along with local officials now express concerns over secret meetings and limited access to records—Critics say the lack of transparency makes it hard to hold the board accountable for its spending decisions. - ➤ State health officials are urging residents to protect themselves from Lyme disease after Pennsylvania recorded 16,620 lab-confirmed cases last year and remains among the top 10 states for infections. The DOH advises wearing light-colored clothing, using insect repellent as directed, and checking for ticks while it has launched an online dashboard to track areas with high tick activity.
