ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Emergency crews responded to a house fire in the 3900 block of Elmerton Avenue in Lower Paxton Township just after 5 a.m. Sunday, controlling the blaze in about 20 minutes and reporting no injuries while officials investigate the cause.  WGAL
  • State police said that on Saturday night a truck crossed into the opposite lane and hit an SUV near the intersection of State Route 34 and Landisburg Road in Carroll Township — one person in the SUV died at the scene and truck driver William Richey Jr. died later at Penn State Hershey Medical Center as State Route 34 was closed for four hours.  WGAL

CRIME NEWS

  • Police said 42-year-old Dwright Tubman was stabbed to death at an illegal rooming home at 2121 Kensington St. days after moving in as his girlfriend warned him about the apartment.  PennLive
  • Steelton Mayor Ciera Dent issued an emergency proclamation after a shooting occurred near Pine Street and River Alley early Sunday morning—she ordered Soul Lounge on North Front Street to stop all activities until the borough council reviews the incident.  Local 21 News

  • State lawmakers face dark money pressure from skill game supporters as one senator found a flyer with her image after a violent incident, raising alarm over industry tactics and potential tax changes. GOP leaders, including a volunteer firefighter targeted by misleading materials, will soon decide on the regulation and taxation of 'Pennsylvania Skill' machines—raising concerns about public safety and small business impacts.  PennLive
