- ➤ Renovations have begun on a 42,000 square-foot building at 3251 Butler St. in Susquehanna Township that will house the Horizons transitional housing program, which will launch in January to help participants overcome housing barriers with success advocates, financial literacy and job coaching support. BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ The Cleveland-Cliffs steel plant in Steelton closed on June 30th after more than 160 years of service, and most workers ended regular shifts on June 27th. Many employees filed for unemployment at the local Union Hall between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.—officials hope to secure a buyer soon as the plant’s future remains uncertain. ABC27
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Widener University's Commonwealth Law School and the University of Scranton signed a 3+3 dual admissions agreement that lets eligible Scranton students earn both a bachelor’s and a law degree in six years.
