COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Marysville Sportsmen’s Association is hosting the 7th annual veterans’ trout fishing derby where over 100 veterans will fish for three hours on Fishing Creek — a joint event supported by local VFWs, American Legions and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 49. Veterans from Perry, Cumberland, Dauphin and Juniata counties will attend as the event takes place soon — honoring their service. WGAL
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A house fire displaced three residents in Paxtang on Sunday afternoon when the blaze broke out around 6:30 p.m. on North 17th Street and was contained to a second floor bedroom with no injuries reported—fire crews responded quickly and the Dauphin County Fire Marshal Task Force is investigating the cause. - ➤ A multi-vehicle crash involving two cars and two tractor-trailers occurred on I-81 near mile marker 50.5 and caused several hours of traffic delays as emergency crews responded, discovering one tractor-trailer jackknifed (leaking diesel fuel) and closing exit 52 for cleanup. Local 21 News

- ➤ Chisuk Emuna Congregation has launched an initiative to commission a new torah scroll for ritual use since only two of its six torahs remain in proper condition—this rare and expensive project will take six months to complete with support from a generous gift by the Gordon family. ABC27

- ➤ Dozens gathered in Hershey for the 2025 ALS Walk Saturday at Hershey Middle School on Homestead Road to raise funds for fighting ALS—over $100,000 was raised. ABC27

- ➤ Messiah University's baseball team finished as national runners-up this season after making its first College World Series appearance with a record of 39 wins and 16 losses while winning its sixth Conference Championship and advancing to its first Super Regional. Coach Phillip Schallenberger and his players said their faith in God guided them—playing with love toward God was as important as winning on the field. FOX43
