  • Lower Paxton Township celebrated 40 years of its free van service that offers seniors rides to any location within the township + to medical appointments on the east or west shores, and seniors along with elected officials gathered at George Park on Saturday for a picnic.  ABC27

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Seven months ago on Cameron Street, a hit-and-run left flagger April Hoyrup with severe injuries including a fractured leg and broken pelvis—she is now out of the hospital but faces a long recovery as she urges drivers to stay alert in work zones.  Local 21 News
  • State police said that just before 6 p.m. Friday in Londonderry Township a 47-year-old driver ran a stop sign and crashed his Pontiac G6 into a truck—killing him and hospitalizing his 43-year-old passenger along with two teenagers.  PennLive

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Central Dauphin School District said it has not cut paraprofessional jobs and will create a dedicated resource room to support students with IEPs, yet reports show that 30 paraprofessionals were told in a Thursday meeting that their positions were eliminated—staff can choose from 35 available roles. A parent and a teacher expressed concern that moving trusted staff out of classrooms in six middle and high school buildings may hurt student learning.  ABC27
