- ➤ Kids near Harrisburg enjoyed a new soccer mini pitch on Sunday at Penbrook Community Park, built with a $100,000 investment by the JT Dorsey Foundation. The opening celebration (featuring food trucks, music, and family activities) provided a fun summer spot for local players. Local 21 News
- ➤ Nonprofits can apply today for up to $10,000 in Community Impact Grants from a Harrisburg-based foundation to fund education, health & wellness, housing, and other local projects across six counties, with applications due by Sept. 1. TheBurg
- ➤ The Pennsylvania State Historic Preservation Office honored Lincoln Cemetery (located on the border of Penbrook and Susquehanna Township) with its Community Initiative Award on Sunday, May 31. - ➤ Last Friday, the CPC Film Series celebrated Central Penn College alumni at Capital Blue Cross Theater with a triple-feature of films by Dylan Bowman and Nik Hogan. Bowman announced that 'Plaster Heart' was accepted into the Pottsville Film Festival and Hogan’s animated film marked a first for the series. TheBurg

- ➤ Yesterday, the Pennsylvania House passed a bipartisan bill that bans cell phones in classrooms, allowing exceptions for medical needs, translation, and instructional use — the measure now heads to the Senate for further consideration. Local 21 News
- ➤ PennDOT said that Paxton Street access to Route 441 in Swatara Township is restricted for a $3.1 million safety project; drivers must follow a detour (South 19th, Paxton and South 28th) until the reconfigured intersection opens in April 2028. PennLive
- ➤ Officials are evaluating downtown parking to address concerns amid ongoing efforts to revitalize Harrisburg.
