CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police and the coroner are asking the public for help identifying a woman whose body was found in the Susquehanna River near a boat launch on River Drive in Mahoning Township; she is about 5 feet 4 inches tall (150-170 lbs with multiple tattoos) and anyone with information should call Mahoning Township Police at 570-275-5611 or Montour County Coroner's Office at 570-275-1867. - ➤ Former Milton Hershey high school football star Michael Blidi Jr. (brother of an NFL player) was shot at his doorstep in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota last Thursday and is now paralyzed from the waist down as police investigate the incident. PennLive
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Local archeologists from the Lower Susquehanna Archeological Society spent two weeks digging at Blue Rock Heritage Center in Lancaster County and uncovered the misaligned foundation of a mid-1800s farmhouse along with artifacts ranging from an eight-thousand-year-old projectile point to other historic items—phase two of the project will begin in the summer and may continue through winter. - ➤ A new law closed some federal campgrounds so more residents now choose state parks for camping. Little Buffalo State Park saw a 63% rise in visitors so far — officials ask everyone to be patient and clean up after themselves. FOX43
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Dave Stroud, who suffered three strokes in 2021 and was treated at Methodist Hospital, now volunteers there and builds therapy devices to improve fine motor skills—he meets with fellow survivors every Wednesday at Stroke Chat and calls them family. WGAL
