COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The local Bhutanese community is urgently searching for Rohit Baral after he went missing from the Cleveland area at 4:00 p.m. on May 16—his car with personal belongings and medication was later found near his sister's home, and his family is in Lancaster.  Local 21 News
  • Cumberland County residents gathered at Mount Zion Cemetery in Monroe Township today to honor Colonel Henry Zinn, who led the 130th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry and was killed at the battle of Fredericksburg. The cemetery board plans to erect wayside markers to mark local Civil War events — a tribute to the fallen hero’s legacy.  ABC27

BUSINESS NEWS

  • A Rite Aid store at 818 U.S. Route 15 in Carroll Township is closing as part of a Chapter 11 filing that adds 151 locations to the company's previous shutdown list. The chain also announced closures of other stores in York, Hanover, Dillsburg, Etters and Stewartstown — part of a plan to reduce over 1,200 stores nationwide.  PennLive

CRIME NEWS

  • Police took 22-year-old Angelo Ceccarani into custody on Monday after a man was found dead in the 200 block of North Front Street and officers said the victim (unnamed) died from trauma earlier in the day; Ceccarani is charged with murder and possession of an instrument of crime.  WGAL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On April 14th, 2025, the final episode of the national podcast 'Death County, PA' detailed how prison overseers in Dauphin County accepted payments and pressed property deals with jail operators — raising questions on the oversight of prisoner care. Family members protested and demanded answers when the report showed that a good old boys club allowed cash and favors to flow — fueling public outcry over the prison deaths.  PennLive
