COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Memorial Day events took place across south-central Pennsylvania yesterday — including parades and picnics hosted by local groups — as residents gathered to honor the holiday. Local 21 News
- ➤ Reverend Matthew Best at Christ Lutheran Church in Allison Hill now offers free walk-in clinics with medical, dental, and healing services. The center, open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., serves up to 1,000 patients a month + aims to strengthen community ties. Local 21 News
- ➤ On Memorial Day, the Pride of the Susquehanna riverboat returned to the water after a two-year break and heavy repairs. The boat started a 5 p.m. cruise from its dock at City Island (with VIP parking) and offered veterans a special tour led by Judge Tully. WGAL
- ➤ Participants at Kingdom FIT in Lemoyne honored Lt. Michael 'Murph' Murphy today by performing the nationally recognized Murph Challenge and raising funds for military families. FOX43

- ➤ Central Penn College is launching cannabis business courses to ready students for jobs in the growing industry, with classes starting soon (details on enrollment are available from the college). FOX43
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Transource Pennsylvania seeks state approval today to build a $113 million, 29-mile power line in Franklin County. If approved by the Pennsylvania Utility Commission, the Rice-Ringgold Transmission Line will ease grid congestion and begin construction next year — improving power delivery for local communities. - ➤ The Pennsylvania Department of Health is increasing its efforts to track alpha-gal syndrome, a condition from lone star tick bites that causes dangerous red meat allergies, and has recorded about 300 positive tests annually across the state (residents are urged to use repellent and check for ticks after outdoor activities).
