- ➤ Bennett Williams Commercial Inc. announced plans to build Beltway Town Centre at 5401 Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg, where shoppers will soon find food options including CAVA, Shake Shack, and BJ's grocery store along with other outlets. The 15.44-acre center is located along a busy corridor with about 40,000 vehicles daily—ensuring easy access and proximity to Silver Spring Square. FOX43
- ➤ Ocean State Job Lot will open a new store in Susquehanna Township at Dauphin Plaza, taking over the former Big Lots location whose lease was purchased at auction—one of 15 such leases to be converted by early summer. - ➤ Susquehanna Township police arrested a juvenile male after fights erupted at the high school football scrimmage on May 15—two officers were injured while police sought to deescalate the brawl, and the investigation continues for more charges. PennLive
- ➤ A man was repeatedly punched and kicked until he was unconscious around midnight Tuesday at Blackberry and Dewberry streets downtown when Naquad Phillips, 25, robbed him before fleeing—Phillips was arrested Thursday and now faces charges of attempted homicide and robbery while the victim remains in critical condition at a local hospital. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A Dauphin County project centered on the Tecport Building at 3721 Tecport Drive is at risk after months of stalled progress—officials spent $400,000 on a $10.4 million effort to create a human services hub and now may cancel the project to avoid further losses.
