  • Harrisburg will reopen its City Island arcade for the summer with a grand opening on Friday, May 22 from 3 to 9 p.m. — the venue will offer games costing $1 to $3 per play and extend hours during Senators’ games.  TheBurg

  • Niall Horan will return to Hersheypark Stadium to co-headline shows with Thomas Rhett this summer. He recalled his 2013 visit, noting a strong smell of chocolate & Harry Styles racing stairs as he prepares for the July 18 show at 6 p.m.  WGAL

  • Drivers in central PA still find gas under $4 on Wednesday, with a 7-Eleven in East Pennsboro Township and stations in Hanover offering gas at $3.95 per gallon, despite rising state and national averages.  PennLive

  • Today, elementary school students learned about agriculture during Farm City Day held at a local school, which showed them where their food comes from.  FOX43

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City council said that rebuilding the Broad Street Market will cost $23.7 million after a fire-damaged wall increased stabilization costs to $2.5 million (construction expenses and existing issues pushed the budget higher). The council will vote to reallocate insurance and federal funds, and work will finish by May next year.  WGAL
  • Janelle Stelson skipped multiple debate forums in the primary against Justin Douglas — she focuses on campaigning in neighborhoods to defeat Scott Perry, while Douglas, frustrated by her absence, will attend the candidates forum at Penn State Harrisburg today.  PennLive
  • The Pennsylvania House passed legislation Tuesday to extend the malt beverage tax credit carryforward to five years and allow breweries to trade their credits—sending the bill to the Senate for review. Representative Tiburcio said the measure supports local craft breweries.  Central Penn Business Journal
  • Harrisburg officials said at Tuesday’s City Council meeting that the Broad Street Market rebuild cost rose from $20.8m to $23.7m after a wall collapse — leading to $3.2m in extra change orders. They will vote on using extra funds soon, with work scheduled to finish by May 2027.  TheBurg

HEALTH NEWS

  • State health officials reported 11 measles cases in Lebanon County that led to three hospitalizations, and they held a vaccination clinic Tuesday that immunized 26 people while urging residents to get their MMR shot for protection.  PennLive
  • Physician Assistant Emily Warf adopted infant Elijah after he spent five months in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit with a congenital heart condition at Penn State Health Golisano Children’s Hospital; he is now five and will start kindergarten this fall.  ABC27
  • Penn State Health hospitals earned top Leapfrog ratings this spring, as Milton S. Hershey, Hampden, Lancaster and St. Joseph Medical Centers earned A grades + Holy Spirit Medical Center earned a B.   • The Harrisburg Police Bureau launched a mental health support tool for residents to fill out an online form that schedules a meeting with a Dauphin County co-responder for nonemergency issues, offering help with mental health, alcohol or substance abuse, and aging during Mental Health Awareness Month.  TheBurg
