- ➤ The YMCA took over the former Fit On Market fitness center at Strawberry Square on Market St and renamed it Y on Market. Starting Tuesday, new and current members can sign a waiver and pay a one-time $20 activation fee at one of five locations. PennLive

- ➤ Hershey Entertainment & Resorts opened Hershey Inn & Suites at 1300 West End Avenue in Hummelstown today; the four-story, 130-room hotel features a 24/7 arcade, indoor pool, complimentary hot breakfast and family suites with bunk beds, with rooms designed to connect for larger parties. - ➤ The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission advanced a model tariff on Thursday to guide utilities in managing increasing energy demand from data centers & to ensure existing ratepayers do not bear extra costs. - ➤ Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate stayed at 4.2 percent in March, below the national average. The Labor and Industry report said the state added 12,500 nonfarm jobs and its civilian labor force grew by 6,000 (data from March). Central Penn Business Journal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ HU students hosted the PA Cup esports tournament and STEM Exploration Day on April 24 at the Harrisburg University campus. Over 120 high school students joined the event to play live matches and learn practical skills in event planning and streaming. Harrisburg University of Science and Technology
- ➤ HACC has reversed its decision to cut four sports programs — men's and women's basketball, cross country, soccer, and women's volleyball — to support students and sustain athletics through June 30, 2027. The change comes after feedback from students and stakeholders. FOX43

- ➤ House Bill 41 would split public and private high schools into separate playoff brackets for sports as a measure to even out competition. The bill passed in the House and now awaits Senate review, supported by the Harrisburg School District (among others). Local 21 News
