- ➤ Derry Township Police are searching for suspects who stole a safe with a large amount of cash from Hershey Spice Restaurant - Bar on East Chocolate Avenue early Saturday, April 26 between 2:10 and 2:30 a.m. and ask anyone in the area between the 1000 and 1500 blocks of East Caracas or Chocolate Avenue to call Detective Sergeant Jason Rode at 717-533-2057 extension 3127. - ➤ State House Minority Leader Jesse Topper demanded clarity on security lapses after a 38-year-old suspect (Cody Balmer) allegedly used Molotov cocktails to start fires at Governor Shapiro's residence on April 13, and Pennsylvania State Police hired a third-party review (led by Jeffrey Miller) to examine security gaps. - ➤ Pennsylvania voters will cast ballots on May 20 in a primary election that chooses party candidates for municipal races and judgeships on the Commonwealth and Superior Courts (one vacancy exists on each court with several candidates running). Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m., and voters must register by May 5 while mail and absentee ballots must be requested by May 13 (county offices must receive applications by 5 p.m.). - ➤ State lawmakers are introducing two bills that would require most health insurance plans to cover fertility treatments and protect access to in vitro fertilization—efforts prompted by concerns over an Alabama ruling that said embryos have rights. The bills are set to move to legislative committees and have support from both sides while insurers warn that expanded coverage may raise premiums. PennLive
