CRIME NEWS

  • Steelton police said that on March 7 a 1-year-old girl died from a fentanyl overdose when pills were found in plain view, leading Dauphin County parents Debra Burnett (28) and Fritz Volcy (26) to face third-degree murder and child endangerment charges as investigators found other drugs throughout the home.  PennLive

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Residents evacuated near Michaux State Forest in Cumberland and Franklin counties as two fires ignited on April 23 burned larger areas—Thompson’s Hollow reached 1,150 acres and Hammond’s Rock grew to 200 acres—while officials reported on April 25 that several roads, including Whitmer Road, were closed and air quality declined.  FOX43
