  • The Jewish Federations of North America apologized to the local community amid financial challenges that led to the closure of the Symons Family Fitness Center. The Brenner Early Learning Center will close after May 1 while a transition committee will address changes at the Alexander Grass Campus for Jewish Life.  Local 21 News

  • Chambersburg-based F&M Trust promoted Chad Carroll to president and chief operating officer, effective April 28, as he joins CEO Craig Best to oversee daily operations and execute the bank’s strategic plan while serving on the board.  Central Penn Business Journal

  • Millennium Circuits Limited renewed its scholarship partnership with Harrisburg University by delivering a second $30,000 gift on Wed, Apr. 22 to support students in the growing Advanced Manufacturing and Robotics program as the university marks its 25th anniversary.  Harrisburg University of Science and Technology
  • Student-athletes at Harrisburg Area Community College have launched a petition after the school announced nearly all varsity sports will be cut next fall to save $351,000 and address a $5 million shortfall. They say the decision was made with little warning following enrollment deadlines, leaving them uncertain about their future.  Local 21 News
  • School and city officials celebrated Arbor Day Friday, Apr. 24 at a local elementary school by discussing environmental awareness and planting a tree.  FOX43

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Constellation Energy asked the Susquehanna River Basin Commission to withdraw 73 million gallons daily from the river for a restart of the Crane Clean Energy Center (formerly Three Mile Island) to support Microsoft data centers.
