ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On Friday morning, a fire at the Margaret Morne Apartments on Medical Road in Millersburg displaced 12 tenants, who were safely evacuated and temporarily sheltered at the nearby Northern Dauphin Nursing and Rehabilitation where no residents were affected. WGAL
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Nine Harrisburg University students traveled to the state capitol on April 14 and met with lawmakers as part of the annual Day on the Hill event hosted by AICUP to share their higher education stories. - ➤ Harrisburg Area Community College cut over 100 positions last week as part of cost-saving measures for its 2026-2027 budget and ended programs like Early Childhood Care and Geospatial Technology. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ A condemned home in Steelton caused a severe rat infestation and foul odor that affected homes along South Harrisburg Street. - ➤ Two environmental groups filed petitions Friday to intervene in a legal challenge over proposed detention centers that would convert warehouses in Schuylkill and Berks counties.
