CRIME NEWS

  • On April 13, 2025, Cody Balmer, 38, was charged with attempted murder and terrorism for setting a fire at Governor Shapiro's official residence using homemade Molotov cocktails & prosecutors said he may face ethnic intimidation charges since the attack targeted the governor's family due to their faith; he was arraigned on April 14 and bail was denied.  Local 21 News
  • Penbrook police said they had to see Cody Balmer’s behavior in person before trying to commit him, following calls from his mother as he faces charges for firebombing the Governor’s Residence — a step they defended as necessary.  PennLive
  • Officers responded at 7:45 p.m. on Monday night near North Fourth and Muench streets when a man suffered fatal gunshot wounds and was taken to a hospital—investigators have not yet identified any suspects.  WGAL
