ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Penbrook Borough Police said a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Elm and 27th at 5:20 p.m. led one vehicle to hit a building, a parked car & a pedestrian who was taken to the hospital and released while damage details remain unknown. WGAL
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ A. Duie Pyle opened a new facility at 475 Terminal St. in Hampden Township in January and will employ 150 people by year’s end — the company provides transportation, distribution, and warehousing services for supply chain needs. PennLive
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Cumberland Valley School District announced that Middlesex Elementary will switch from full-day to half-day kindergarten next school year (due to ongoing budget issues and inadequate state funding) to manage rising costs. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Dauphin County officials held a press conference Tuesday morning at the State Capitol after ICE detained five Bhutanese Nepali residents who are legal permanent residents; some have already been transferred to out-of-state detention centers. The officials said the detentions separated families and called for transparency and support from state and federal leaders. Local 21 News
- ➤ Hundreds of former federal workers have applied for state jobs after Gov. Josh Shapiro signed an executive order on March 5 that gives them hiring preference—about 1,100 applications from roughly 700 candidates have been received while 665 positions are posted on the state’s recruitment page.
