- ➤ The Foundation for Enhancing Communities received nearly 18,000 contributions totaling over $14 million in 2025 and awarded more than 900 scholarships to local students. The foundation supports nonprofits throughout the region — funding education, community programs, and health services — as it celebrates National Philanthropy Day and Community Foundation Week. - ➤ Grocery brand Easy Street donated 10,000 lbs of frozen chicken to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank’s Dauphin County warehouse on Wednesday + 5,000 lbs each were given to food banks in Pittsburgh and West Moreland to meet rising protein needs. FOX43
- ➤ Harrisburg native and Harlem Globetrotters head coach Chris Handles Franklin is giving back by leading the Handles Foundation to provide meals and support for the homeless through partnerships with local groups at the AMIRACLE Community, inspiring youth to achieve their dreams in the city that raised him. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Harrisburg School Board voted Tuesday night to demolish the century-old William Penn building because its severe deterioration and high upkeep costs made it unsafe. The 27-acre site will be repurposed for the district's educational needs—possibly including athletic fields. TheBurg

- ➤ Franklin County pharmacist Dr. Wayne Myers was named Pharmacist of the Year by the Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association today. He owns Norland Ave. Pharmacy in Chambersburg and Carl's Drug Store in Greencastle (the nation’s oldest independent pharmacy) and has advanced independent pharmacy with innovative patient care throughout his career. - ➤ Pennmark Management Company held a meeting on Wednesday to present a redevelopment plan for the Polyclinic Hospital campus that will add 230 apartments, retail, and parking to meet zoning relief requirements. Councilman Ralph Rodriguez noted the plan is expected to boost tax revenue & local economic growth, with completion in about three years. FOX43
