  • Cody Goss was named executive director of Harrisburg Young Professionals to lead the nonprofit’s growth — he will be honored on Feb. 25 at Strawberry Square during its 28th Annual Meeting and Awards Night.  Central Penn Business Journal
  • Three student-dancers from Penn State Harrisburg’s THON chapter will dance for a cure at the Bryce Jordan Center this weekend. The 46-hour dance marathon supports families through fundraising for cancer care (with $35,000 raised so far).  WGAL
  • A bobcat rescued from a car grill in Adams County received life-saving surgery at Raven Ridge Wildlife Center in Washington Boro, and the center is now seeking nearly $9,200 in donations to cover the cost of treatment and rehabilitation.  FOX43

  • Raymond Bromley, president of Lehman Volvo Cars (Mechanicsburg and York), became the new chairman of the Pennsylvania Automotive Association board on Jan. 1, taking over from 2025 chair Matt Smith.  Central Penn Business Journal

  • High school seniors from nine counties can apply online for the 2026 Best and Brightest award offered by PA Media Group by Friday, Mar. 6. The application (which includes an essay and two recommendation letters) honors students based on academics, extracurricular activities and community service.  PennLive

  • The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm watch for Susquehanna Valley counties (Adams, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York) from 5 a.m. Sunday through 1 p.m. Monday with Sunday set as Impact Day for potential travel delays.  WGAL

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Gov. Shapiro’s Housing Action Plan aims to address housing shortages and affordability, and the Pennsylvania Association of Realtors supports the plan to build and preserve homes and cut red tape. The proposed 2026-27 budget includes a $1 billion bond initiative to boost housing projects & improve agency coordination.  Central Penn Business Journal
