  • A mom, daughter and granddaughter swept the whoopie pie contest at the annual PA Farm Show — a judge explained that the winning pies needed a perfect balance of flavor and texture. The contest highlighted a family’s creative recipe in a community favorite event.  FOX43

  • Microsoft has pledged to cover electricity costs and replenish water in areas where it builds data centers to ease rising bills for residents. It is set to offer training programs and has signed a 20-year deal with Constellation Energy to reopen a nuclear facility in Londonderry Township.  WGAL
  • The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board announced three separate lotteries offering rare whiskey bottles, including the Van Winkle, Buffalo Trace Antique Collection, and E.H. Taylor sets. CULTURE NEWS

  • The PA Farm Show held its 109th Sheep-to-Shawl contest on Wednesday, Jan. 14, where teams had 2.5 hours to create shawls judged on criteria (shearing, team identification, spinning, weaving, design). Winners received multiple awards and the winning shawls will be auctioned off.  WGAL
  • At the PA Farm Show, ten teams competed in a timed contest to shear and weave sheep's fleece into a completed shawl within two-and-a-half hours. The event marked the contest’s return, bringing a creative challenge to the show.  FOX43
  • Officials with Pennsylvania Co-operative Potato Growers prepare fresh potato donuts daily at the Farm Show starting at 5 a.m. until 7 p.m. The treats, available plain+powdered or cinnamon sugared, sell out quickly and will only be sold again next year.  FOX43
