- ➤ Preparations are underway for the Farm Show, scheduled to run from Jan. 10 to Jan. 17 at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg as organizers finalize plans for agricultural displays and educational sessions. FOX43

- ➤ Greg Harris has been elected as the 2026 president of the Pennsylvania Builders Association and will serve on its board plus be installed at the Annual Gala at Hotel Hershey in March. He previously served as vice president and secretary and will now lead efforts on state and national housing issues. Central Penn Business Journal
- ➤ Central Penn Business Journal announced the launch of the CPBJ 300 recognition platform that lists influential leaders in business, nonprofits, government, and higher education across 28 sectors in the mid-state region (based on staff research and recommendations). EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Melissa and Scott Harris say Cedar Cliff High School failed to provide the promised aide for their 15-year-old daughter with autism and epilepsy, leaving her vulnerable when the aide missed trips or was dropped off early. School officials and the bus company have not yet resolved the safety concerns. Local 21 News
- ➤ Harrisburg University of Science & Technology (HU) announced on Jan. 7 that Emily Mallis is the new Ambassador for Women in 3D Printing, and the university will host the Central Pennsylvania chapter to support local STEM education and mentorship programs. - ➤ A new report from the Shapiro-Davis Administration shows that more than $1 billion in state contracts supported small businesses in FY 2024–25. Spending with veteran-owned businesses increased over 70% and purchases from Black-owned and Latino-owned companies rose 45% as enhanced procurement practices boosted outreach statewide. - ➤ State Representative Nate Davidson presented a $25,000 check to East Pennsboro Fire Police on Wednesday to fund new safety & traffic control equipment, which will boost the department's emergency response. Officials said the purchase is expected to enhance community safety. FOX43

- ➤ Penn State Health Milton Hershey Medical Center reported a 100% three-year survival rate for heart transplant patients from January 2020 to June 2022 and zero waitlist deaths between July 2023 and June 2025 (609 surgeries since 1984), marking the center as one of the nation’s top heart care programs.
