COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A water main break occurred Monday morning in Hampden Township (Birch Court and Clearview Drive) and may cause discolored water, low pressure, or a temporary loss of service. Crews expect to complete repairs in about 11 hours and advise residents to flush taps from the lowest or highest level as needed.  WGAL
  • The 1,000-pound butter sculpture, made from butter donated by Land O’Lakes, will be unveiled at 1 p.m. Thursday in the main hall of the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center; Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding, local farm representative Carolyn Matthews Eaglehouse, and sculptors Jim Victor and Marie Pelton will attend.  WGAL
  • AJ Owen, who set up a free front yard food pantry last November to help locals after SNAP cuts, was surprised on Sunday by Steelers defensive end Yahya Black with Super Bowl tickets as a thank-you for his community work.  WGAL
  • After Sunday's game, Hershey Bears distributed 81,796 stuffed animals to more than 60 local charities. The team worked early Monday morning to deliver bears to schools, nursing homes, and animal shelters (among other community spots) around town.  FOX43

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • PennDOT is replacing signs at Linglestown Square Roundabout after a New Year's Day crash that occurred around 4 a.m. on Linglestown Road near Raspberry Lane; the driver cooperated with police and no one was injured.  Local 21 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Howard University's prominent gospel choir will perform its first show in a decade at Market Square Presbyterian Church on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 4 p.m. as arranged by the Arts on the Square committee to honor Black History Month.  TheBurg

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Economic leaders forecast a busy 2026 in Pennsylvania as York County will launch projects including the Codorus Greenway and Ruins Plaza, while Harrisburg plans to revamp its downtown district with efforts by city and state leaders. Housing and infrastructure improvements are set to boost local growth—expanding opportunities and new investments.  Central Penn Business Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission enacted a 4% toll increase Sunday to repay debt under Act 44, raising E-ZPass fees to $1.94 and Toll By Plate to $3.88. The measure marks the 18th consecutive year of rate hikes and keeps tolls 20% below the national average.  Central Penn Business Journal
