COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Organizer Aidan Carrigan announced that Linglestown Lights will not host its full dancing lights show this winter—only a few unsynced lights will be displayed—in hopes of returning bigger and brighter next year.  Local 21 News

  • Integrity First Home Buyers will host a business networking event on November 13 from 6–8 p.m. at Heritage Hills Golf Resort—partnering with Schiffbauer Consulting Group to connect professionals from York, Lancaster, and Harrisburg through speed networking sessions and panel discussions.  Central Penn Business Journal
  • A New York Times report says Hershey has changed recipes for some of its products (Almond Joy, Mr. Goodbar, and Rolo) so they now list as chocolate candy instead of milk chocolate to cut costs amid rising cocoa prices. The company said it partly absorbed high tariff costs while pushing some expenses to consumers, and products like Hershey’s bar, Reese’s cups, and KitKats still use the milk chocolate label.  ABC27

CRIME NEWS

  • Attorney General Dave Sunday charged Seneca Resources, LLC with violating Pennsylvania environmental laws in several counties for illegal dumping—an act that led to water contamination at a couple's home in Cameron County and resulted in 72 counts under the Solid Waste Management Act along with 42 counts under the Clean Streams Law.  ABC27

  • Dauphin County school officials say two Central Dauphin School District students made 'Death Notes' imitating the anime while no direct threats were made—superintendent Eric Turman warned that such behavior may lead to suspension, law enforcement referral, or expulsion and urged parents to discuss its impact with their children.  ABC27

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Harrisburg City Councilman Ralph Rodriguez will host monthly hot meal distributions starting November 7 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Public Works Building at 1820 Paxton Street to help families affected by SNAP cuts; he will offer 200 to 300 meals using his own funds and meals prepared by local vendors — Crawdaddy's Restaurant and Uncle's Dre's Cafe — with recipients required to show an EBT card with ID.  PennLive

HEALTH NEWS

  • On Halloween morning, NICU nurses at Penn State Health Golisano Children's Hospital in Hershey dressed babies in ice cream cone onesies to bring cheer to families during their baby's first holiday in the hospital — a cherished annual tradition. The event offered a warm moment for families while highlighting the compassionate efforts of the care team.  Local 21 News

  • High school football playoff games in Central Penn have excited local fans. Cedar Cliff beat Cedar Crest 35–6 for its first 6A win, Bermudian Springs came back for a 25–24 win over Big Spring, Steel High defeated Columbia 46–22, and Central Dauphin edged Cumberland Valley 7–6 (more games are set for next week).  FOX43
