- ➤ Dozens of companies—ranging from retail stores to service centers—are opening or planning new locations across south-central Pennsylvania. Major names such as Chase Bank, Wawa, and Hyatt Studios are expanding their presence across the region. PennLive
- ➤ A new Chick-fil-A at 2007 Dotson Court in Susquehanna Township opens today from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., offering guests a free entrée when they wear cow-themed attire while creating 120 new jobs and featuring a dining room and playground — the grand opening will also include a $25,000 donation to the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank. - ➤ PennDOT said the new 29th Street Bridge over I-83 is now open after being replaced since July and the 19th Street Bridge will close on Oct. 26 until next October. Drivers are advised to follow detour routes (via Paxton, 29th and Derry Streets) during the closure. ABC27
- ➤ PennDOT announced that the 29th Street Bridge has reopened after its complete rebuild as part of the I-83 Capital Beltway Project, and that the 19th Street Bridge will close Oct. 26 for a year-long reconstruction—detours cover the route from Paxton to Greenwood Streets. TheBurg
- ➤ Clients at the Pleasant Valley Ecumenical Network in Chestnuthill Township worry they will lose SNAP benefits on November 1 because the Department of Human Services said funds will not be issued until Congress passes a resolution—officials note that nearly 2 million people rely on the program and urge families to seek other food resources as Thanksgiving nears.
