  • General David Petraeus and Shaquille O’Neal headlined the PA Chamber’s 41st Annual Dinner at Hershey Lodge Monday night—where business, civic, and political leaders gathered. Petraeus discussed global security and leadership while O’Neal emphasized respect and his local ties to Hershey.  Central Penn Business Journal

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Susquehanna Township School District is asking voters to raise taxes to fund a new $75 million elementary school as classrooms become too crowded due to nearly 20% enrollment growth over eight years—officials said that older buildings are forcing teachers to share rooms. The proposal will use an income-based tax to add an estimated $3.5 million each year, and a public hearing is set for October 30 with a final vote in November.  FOX43

  • Governor Josh Shapiro gave remarks Tuesday on the rise in political violence after Cody Balmer pleaded guilty for the arson attack at his residence — later that evening, hundreds walked around Children's Lake Park in Boiling Springs to honor Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk while state troopers maintained safety during a peaceful prayer gathering.  Local 21 News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Since January, political insider Charlie Gerow has been fighting a rare, life-threatening auto-immune disorder called ANCA vasculitis. Gerow, who was given last rites — his family and faith helped him survive a 24-hour death sentence, will gradually return to Face the State in the coming weeks.  Local 21 News
  • Dr. Vinitha Moopen from WellSpan Family and Pediatric Medicine at Rothsville talked on FOX43 about the warning signs of Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease. She said parents should watch for early symptoms (like fever or mouth sores) and seek care quickly.  FOX43
