CRIME NEWS
- ➤ State Police are investigating a series of vehicle break-ins near Royalton—three masked suspects were seen on video during late-night incidents on July 11-12 and July 17-18 along Penn Street, Hillsdale Road, and Dock Street, one of which involved a stolen firearm from an unlocked vehicle. FOX43

- ➤ Fill the Bus returns to West Shore Walmart off the Carlisle Pike to collect school supplies for Carlisle for Kids. United Way organizes the event—aiming to help 1,000 children with rising supply costs and it will start Saturday at 9 a.m. ABC27
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Two Central PA state parks banned swimming from lakes after water tests showed high bacteria counts. Gifford Pinchot State Park will test Pinchot Lake daily and Pine Grove Furnace State Park will reopen Laurel Lake when counts are safe—both parks allow boating and fishing. FOX43
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Dauphin County Public Safety reported a 911 outage that began Saturday morning when staff noticed callers' voices were not clear and had to call back manually. The department rerouted calls to Cumberland County at 11:45 a.m., fixed the issue by 12:15 p.m. & restored service by 1:10 p.m. while investigating the root cause. WGAL
- ➤ Officials in Dauphin County said the 911 and non-emergency lines are down and advised anyone with an active emergency to go to a local fire station (717-215-9637, 717-210-6051, 717-215-9507). The county noted it posted 20 hours ago about saving the non-emergency line for 911 use and will update details as they become available. Local 21 News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health officials warn of high E.coli levels in Pennsylvania lakes, rivers and creeks this summer—swimming in contaminated water can cause severe illness. Eight state parks have closed swimming access and the Lower Susquehanna Riverkeeper Association reported dangerous bacteria levels at 20 locations across four counties from a July 17 sample. ABC27
