- ➤ On Tuesday, the Harrisburg School Board approved a motion hiring (Barry Isett and Associates) to perform compaction testing during the demolition of William Penn High School at a cost of over $25,000 from the capital reserve fund. - ➤ Pennsylvania reached a milestone today by planting its 10 millionth tree in Hummelstown (at Schaffner Park). The project, started in 2018, involves over 300 partners working to improve air and water quality statewide. Local 21 News

- ➤ USDA declared a natural disaster on May 8 for 17 counties hit by two April freezes, making emergency loans up to $500,000 available for fruit growers. Affected farmers may apply until Jan. 26, 2027. PennLive

- ➤ UPMC is expanding its breast cancer vaccine clinical trial in Central Pa. to include post-menopausal women with early-stage DCIS in the Harrisburg area (criteria confirmed by UPMC) so that participants receive three vaccine doses before surgery and the study may expand if results are positive.
