Making Room for Parents to Move Taking care of yourself as a parent isn’t always as simple as deciding to do it. Sometimes the biggest barrier is logistical: Who will watch the kids while I take a class? Where do I find the time? How do I fit one more thing into our family’s schedule? After listening to feedback gathered through the Central Pennsylvania Maternal Health Coalition, The Nest of PA wanted to explore ways we could help remove some of those barriers rather than simply telling parents to prioritize their well-being. That’s why we’re excited to partner with H2L Studio in Mechanicsburg for a new monthly movement series designed with parents and kids in mind. Once a month, H2L will host two classes at the same time: one for parents and one for kids. While your child moves, plays and learns alongside other kids, you’ll have dedicated time to move your own body, whether that means yoga, Pilates, bootcamp, cycle or TRX. Because sometimes supporting parents doesn’t mean asking them to find more time. It means creating opportunities that actually fit into the lives they’re already living. Classes are free to attend, with optional donations to support The Nest’s community programming. Space is limited and separate registration is required for the adult and child classes.
